Our main objective is still “To act and operate exclusively as a nonprofit corporation pursuant to the laws of the State of Utah, and to operate a space where members and people from the community can gather; learn from each other;  use tools, equipment and supplies; and to create.”

Come celebrate with us!

  1. I m interested in learning to use laser cutters. I am completely new to this, and I m looking to find ways to get started with both the laser itself and the design software. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

    1. We don’t actually have a laser cutter yet, but we hope to get one in the not too distant future. For the most part, the ones I’ve seen act like printers, and you basically print vector graphics to them. I use Inkscape for vector drawing, but some people prefer Adobe Illustrator. Make Salt Lake has a laser cutter that I’ve used a few times. I highly recommend checking them out if you need to use a laser for something… At least until we get one at ProVolt.
