Waterjet

We have an Omax 2652 Jet machining center that can cut almost anything using a high pressure stream of water, and an abrasive material.

We charge $55 per hour to use the waterjet.

ProVolt does not run outside jobs, but you may learn to use it yourself, or ask a member to cut things for you, and pay them for their time.

There are several resources available for using the waterjet, including externally produced instructional videos, a guide from MIT, and the internal help system that is actually useful!

To download the software used to create paths get the MSI installer from the folder below. Unfortunately it’s windows only.

This folder is password protected, and you can contact John to get the username and password (if you can’t figure it out). Remember that you want to use the “waterjet”, the “waterjet” at ProVolt Makerspace.
